Jess Cottage is set overlooking the town of Kendal in the South Lakes
and lies within walking distance of both the countryside
and the heart of the Town. One of the beautiful character cottages built
of local limestone it
is situated in a quiet no-through road around the corner from where Postman
Pat had his post office! Nestled on the Greenside area of Kendal there
are wonderful walks from the door, ranging from the low level walk beside
the bustling river Kent to woodland and countryside walks all the way
through to Windermere. The Kendal Golf Course (with USPGA
specification sand based greens) is around the corner and welcomes
visitors. Kendal
is the " Gateway to the Lakes," and home of the famous Kendal
mint cake; some of which was carried to the summit of Everest on the
1953 expedition. There are many fine eating places in the town serving
food made from produce sourced in Cumbria and a short walk from the
cottage is a quiet pub overlooking the green. The
Brewery Arts Centre restaurant and bar on Highgate is another comfortable
venue and also provides a cinema and concert room. The
holiday cottage accommodation comprises two double bedrooms in
addition there is a full size sofa bed in the living room downstairs,
where there is a colour TV and DVD. The bathroom is downstairs and
has a shower over the bath. The garden is paved with pots of herbs, and available for use.
Services include a central heating and hot water system, electric cooker,
washing machine and microwave, fridge with freezer compartment. Bed linen
and electricity are included (towels if requested). Well behaved dogs are welcome and must always be under control as they are likely
to encounter sheep, cows, horses, chickens, rabbits, working dogs and
